The EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) will require ByteDance, TikTok’s owner, Google, and other major online platforms to actively monitor and remove illegal content, restrict certain advertising practices, and share data with authorities.
Despite TikTok’s initial agreement to undergo a voluntary “stress test,” EU industry chief Thierry Breton believes further efforts are necessary for the company to be fully compliant.
