The promotion, although not formally announced by ISPR, was disclosed in a local publication.
The report reveals significant promotions and assignments within the Pakistan Army. Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari and Major General Inayat Hussain have also ascended to the rank of lieutenant general, a pivotal position signaling potential future leadership within the Army.

COAS General Asim Munir is reported to have appointed the newly promoted officers to their respective roles. Lieutenant General Omer Bukhari is slated to serve as Commander of the 11 Corps in Peshawar, while Lieutenant General Inayat Hussain will assume the role of Chief of Logistics Services at GHQ.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif will maintain his current responsibilities as Army Spokesperson.
Lieutenant General Omer Bukhari, honored with the sword of honor in the 84th Long Course, and Lieutenant General Inayat Hussain, awarded the presidential gold medal, bring distinguished backgrounds to their new positions.
