Strange Robbery in Karachi as Thieves Return Stolen Items Worth Rs6mn Two Days Later

KARACHI – In a highly unusual incident, a robbery in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Hadeed took an unexpected turn when thieves returned all the stolen valuables just two days after the crime. The robbery occurred at the residence of UC Chairman Raza Jatoi, where burglars had managed to escape with a significant amount of cash and gold jewellery. According to SSP Malir Abdul Khaliq Pirzada, the intruders stole Rs4 million in cash along with gold ornaments worth Rs2 million, bringing the total value of the stolen items to approximately Rs6 million.

However, the case took an astonishing twist when Jatoi’s wife discovered a bag placed outside their home while she was feeding cats in the yard. To her surprise, the bag contained all the stolen cash and jewellery. The unexpected return left the family stunned, prompting Jatoi—who had already reported the robbery to the police—to express his disbelief. He remarked that it was difficult to imagine thieves willingly returning such a large haul, especially in current times where such honesty or remorse is rarely seen.

aThe unusual development has puzzled both the victim and law enforcement authorities. Police have launched a deeper investigation to determine the motive behind the thieves’ decision to return the stolen goods. Whether it was fear, guilt, or some other reason remains unclear. The incident has sparked curiosity among locals, turning a routine robbery case into a mysterious and widely discussed event in the community.
