QUETTA – The Balochistan government has extended summer vacations for both public and private schools in the region from August 1 to August 15, 2024. This extension, announced by the School Education Department of Balochistan, comes in response to the ongoing hot and humid weather conditions. The decision was authorized by the chief minister and builds upon a previous notification from May 14, 2024. All schools in the summer zone will benefit from this extended break. However, activities for the August 14 Independence Day celebrations will proceed as planned.
Similarly, Sindh has also extended its summer vacation until August 14 due to intense heatwaves affecting Karachi and other cities. Provincial Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah confirmed that schools would continue with Independence Day activities. Schools across Sindh are scheduled to reopen on August 15, marking the beginning of the new academic year.
