Australia tightened its hold on the World Cup by defeating Pakistan by eight wickets in the second T20I in Hobart to grab a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-match women’s series.

Pakistan’s first-innings score after batting was merely 96-7 in 20 overs. Muneeba Ali, Pakistan’s opener, led the team in scoring with a 43-ball 33 that included four fours. During this time, captain Bismah Maroof scored 29 off 28 balls for an unbeaten return, helped by two fours.

Leg-spinner Alana King secured two wickets for 10 runs in just two overs for Australia. With eight wickets remaining in the 13th over of their reply, the hosts reached their goal. With 46 off 29 balls with six fours and a six in her, Australia’s top scorer was wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney.

Nida Dar, a Pakistani off-spinner, finished the game with game stats of two for 27 from four overs. It should be mentioned that Australia also triumphed by eight wickets in the first T20I of the series.
