[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Sony’s upcoming Xperia Pro is rumored to include a rotating camera ring, serving as a control interface for functions like zoom, aperture, and focus, resembling a DSLR/mirrorless camera lens. While the leak originates from Weibo in Chinese, details were discussed on the Japanese site Sumahodigest. The camera setup seems similar to the Xperia Pro-I, with the addition of a rotating ring around the lenses.
The ring is expected to manipulate one of the three features individually, possibly adopting the variable zoom lens seen in the Xperia 1 series. Some express skepticism about Sony seamlessly adjusting the aperture, given the Pro-I’s limitations, but the new model may offer a range between f/1.2 and f/4.0, hinting at multiple aperture steps.

Sony traditionally includes a hardware two-stage shutter key on its phones, but the rotating camera ring is a more intricate addition. Additionally, the ring may not exclusively control the Xperia Pro’s cameras; it could serve as a supplementary control interface for connected mirrorless cameras.
The Xperia Pro-II is expected to launch next year, enhancing all three camera modules. The Xperia 1 VI and 5 VI might be unveiled at the MWC, with the Pro model potentially introduced alongside them or at a separate event.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
