[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]A regular PlayStation 5 costs $499, assuming you can find it at the original retail price. While we already have a cheaper PlayStation 5 Digital Edition, another one for the same price may be released shortly.
According to court documents from the Microsoft v. FTC lawsuit, Sony intends to release a hardware variant of the PlayStation 5 called the PlayStation 5 Slim later this year.
Here is an example of one of the aforementioned documents.
According to papers, the Slim edition will cost $399.99, the same as the current Digital Edition. Documents also indicate that Sony is considering the launching of a Pro model in the next years. There are no details yet, but it will most likely cost $599 with some hardware upgrades.

According to rumours, one distinguishing characteristic of the rumoured PlayStation 5 Slim will be its compatibility with a detachable disc drive. According to the same rumours, this feature may not be compatible with existing models.
Given Sony’s history of producing slimmed-down updates for their consoles, it’s no surprise that the paper mentions a PlayStation 5 Slim hardware revision. Sony has been doing this since the early days of the PlayStation.
With the new model likely to be released this year, it is logical to suppose that the Japanese corporation will soon reveal its design and any distinguishing features that set it apart from the existing models.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
