Son of Indian BJP Leader Marries Pakistani Girl

LAHORE – The son of a leader from India’s ruling party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has married a Pakistani girl in an online nikkah ceremony.

Mohammad Abbas Haider, son of BJP corporator Tahseen Shahid, wed Andleep Zahra during a ceremony held online because he was unable to obtain a visa amid ongoing political tensions between the two countries. The urgency for the online ceremony was also influenced by the deteriorating health of the bride’s mother, who had been admitted to the ICU of a hospital.

The nikkah took place on Friday night, with the groom and his family gathered at a mosque while the bride’s family participated online. The groom expressed optimism that his wife would receive her Indian visa without any issues.

Several BJP leaders, including BJP MLC Brijesh Singh Prishu, attended the wedding and congratulated both families on the union.
