The month of August has witnessed a troubling escalation, reaching a total of 183 dengue cases across Sindh. Of these, Karachi accounts for 148 cases, Hyderabad for 27 cases, Mirpur Khas and Sukkur for 3 cases each, and Larkana for 1 case.

Highlighted hotspots and district breakdown reveal East Karachi as a focal point, with a high count of 82 cases. Following closely are South Karachi with 23 cases, Central Karachi with 21, and Malir district with 7 cases. Korangi and Kemari districts reported 7 and 4 cases respectively, while the Western district confirmed 7 cases.
Remarkably, no deaths related to dengue have been reported this year, representing an optimistic shift from the prior year’s records. In 2022, Sindh documented a total of 923 dengue cases without any fatalities.
The Health Department of Sindh remains actively involved in monitoring and responding to the situation. Residents are strongly advised to take preventive actions, including the elimination of mosquito breeding sites and proper water storage practices.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
