The Sindh government has announced rewards for the best-decorated vehicles, shops, and buildings as part of the province-wide celebrations for Independence Day on August 14.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, speaking at a press conference in Karachi, urged the public to actively participate in Independence Day concerts set to take place in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur. He emphasized that Karachi would lead the province in the festivities.

Planned events include a poetry night, rickshaw rally, human flag formation, and public competitions. The CM also revealed ongoing preparations for vintage car and heavy bike rallies, along with women’s fairs and painting contests.

The Culture Department has been tasked with organizing singing competitions. Additionally, the Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Mela, scheduled from August 9 to 11, will be held in the spirit of Independence Day.

The CM instructed the IGP and DIG Traffic to finalize traffic arrangements and urged citizens to cooperate during events, even if temporarily inconvenienced, “in the interest of Pakistan.”

He also stated that formal invitations would be extended to all political parties to take part in the celebrations. Schools will function as usual, although the Education Department will be hosting separate events.

Furthermore, a special event will be observed on August 5 to protest the revocation of Kashmir’s special status, and a separate celebration will honor people with disabilities.
