Sindh Government Declares Public Holiday for Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's Death Anniversary

The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on Friday, April 4, to honor the 46th death anniversary of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) founder and former prime minister, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. A notification issued by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah confirmed that all provincial government offices, as well as autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the province’s administrative control, will remain closed.

To mark the occasion, the PPP will hold a condolence gathering at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, where party workers and supporters from across the country are expected to gather and pay tribute to the late leader.

Yesterday, in a prestigious ceremony held at Aiwan-i-Sadr, President Asif Ali Zardari posthumously awarded the Nishan-e-Pakistan, the country’s highest civilian honor, to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. His daughter, Sanam Bhutto, accepted the award on his behalf, recognizing Bhutto’s extraordinary contributions to the nation.

The event, attended by notable figures including Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, and First Lady Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, also honored other distinguished citizens for their achievements in various fields.
