A pet lion was fatally shot by a security guard after escaping from a resident’s home in a private housing society, causing panic among locals, including families with children.
The lion, owned by Ali Imran, chased people, leading the guard to open fire, fatally wounding the animal.

A video, taken the day after the incident, captured the lion escaping from a house in Lahore’s Harbanspura area. The footage, shared widely on social media, shows the lion leaping over a wall and running through the street.
The lion appeared panicked, slipping at one point but quickly recovering. A street vendor moved to avoid the animal, which then entered a nearby society, where it was shot and killed.
