Xiaomi 17 Ultra

Xiaomi has officially launched its newest flagship smartphone in China. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra aims to compete with top-tier devices like Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro. It comes equipped with advanced technology. This includes a powerful 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. The phone also features a large 6,800 mAh battery.

The company unveiled the new device on December 25, 2025. Pre-orders started on the same day. Official sales are set to begin on December 27. However, Xiaomi has not shared any details about its release in India or other international markets.

Key Specifications

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra features a modern, sleek design. It has a flat 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display. The screen provides a 1.5K resolution. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. For added protection, the display is covered with Xiaomi Shield Glass 3. This is also known as Dragon Crystal Glass 3.

At its core, the phone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This is paired with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage technology. This combination ensures fast and efficient performance. The device operates on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. This offers an improved user experience and better connectivity.

Advanced Camera Capabilities

The camera system is a major highlight of this new smartphone. It includes a 50MP main camera with a large 1-inch sensor. This “Light Master camera” provides superior optical image stabilization. It also captures a high dynamic range.

The most impressive feature is the 200MP periscope telephoto camera. It allows for a seamless zoom from 75 mm up to 400 mm. A versatile 50MP ultra-wide camera is also included. For selfies, there is a 50MP front-facing camera. It has a new ‘Fireworks Mode’ for better photos in difficult lighting.

Battery and Other Features

A massive 6,800mAh battery powers the device. It supports 90W wired fast charging. It also supports 50W wireless charging for quick power-ups. The phone has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Other notable features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.

Currently, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is only available for purchase in China. A global launch might happen at a major tech event in 2026, but this is not confirmed. The final price in markets outside China will depend on local taxes and company strategy.
