Shahid Chaudhry, a Pakistani-origin individual, has achieved the historic milestone of becoming the first person from Pakistan to be appointed as a judge in the higher courts of Canada. Chaudhry, who migrated to Canada approximately 25 years ago, has been designated as a judge in the Ontario Court of Justice.
Originally from the city of Burewala in Punjab, Shahid Chaudhry completed his degree in electrical engineering at the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, before embarking on his journey to Canada. In pursuit of legal education, he earned his post-graduate degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Canada.
