Shaheen Afridi responds to PSL 11 ball tampering allegations

LAHORE – Shaheen Afridi, captain of Lahore Qalandars, has responded to allegations of ball tampering during the sixth match of Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) against Karachi Kings.

Addressing the controversy, Shaheen stated that he was not aware of any alteration to the ball’s condition during the game. He added that the team would carefully review match footage before making any final judgment on the matter.

Reports suggest that umpires examined the ball prior to the final over and concluded that it had been tampered with. As a result, they awarded a five-run penalty against Lahore Qalandars, significantly impacting the outcome of the match.

Following the penalty, Karachi Kings’ target was reduced, requiring only nine runs instead of 14 in the last over. The adjustment proved crucial, as Karachi Kings capitalized on the advantage and went on to secure a dramatic win.

The incident has sparked debate among fans and analysts, with further clarity expected once the team completes its internal review of the footage.
