Pakistan’s star fast bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, is in excellent physical condition and fully prepared to take on arch-rivals India in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023. Earlier, he had suffered a finger injury during an Asia Cup match against India in Colombo, resulting in swelling. However, Shaheen has now recovered completely and is eagerly looking forward to performing at his best against India in the upcoming match.

This week, former Pakistan captains Ramiz Raja and Shoaib Malik expressed concerns about Shaheen bowling with an injury during the tournament. During the Pakistan-Sri Lanka match commentary, Ramiz pointed out, “Shaheen has been dealing with an injured finger and has been experiencing discomfort while bowling.”

Additionally, Shoaib Malik, in a discussion on a local sports channel, emphasized the drop in Shaheen’s bowling speed as Pakistan prepares to face India. Malik stated, “I believe it is a significant worry for the Pakistan cricket team, as Shaheen’s ability to take early wickets with the new ball, especially against strong opponents, has been a major asset for Pakistan.”

He further added, “I understand that Shaheen is making a comeback after an injury, but it is concerning to see that he is unable to consistently bowl at speeds of around 140 kilometers per hour, considering that even the first ball of his spell used to touch approximately 145 kilometers per hour.”

In the recent match against Sri Lanka, Shaheen Afridi bowled nine overs, conceding 66 runs and taking one wicket. In the tournament’s opening game against the Netherlands, he delivered seven overs and finished with figures of 1-37.
