[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Shaheen Afridi, the left-arm bowler, may skip the forthcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in July.
According to media reports, the 23-year-old can be rested in order to manage his workload, especially with the ODI World Cup coming up later this year.
The itinerary for the Test series, which is also part of the ICC World Test Championship, will be announced soon by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
Shaheen is currently playing for Nottinghamshire in England’s T20 Blast, where he has 13 wickets in nine matches.
Arthur recently resorted to Twitter to address Afridi’s workload concerns.
Arthur urged that Afridi increase his workload in order to prepare for Test cricket, implying that team management was keeping a close eye on his progress.
“He bowled 28 overs in ten days!!”If anything, he has to bulk up in order to play test cricket. It is constantly checked,” Arthur wrote on Twitter.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
