In a significant intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan’s security forces successfully eliminated nine terrorists linked to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) – Fitna-ul-Khawarij, including a prominent commander, Shireen.
The operation, conducted by the security forces, led to the neutralization of a terrorist hideout where substantial amounts of arms and ammunition were seized. Shireen, identified as a key member of the Khawarij leadership, was among those killed. The operation highlights the Pakistani military’s continued efforts to dismantle the growing terrorism threat in the region.

This operation follows a recent successful counter-infiltration mission in North Waziristan, where Pakistan’s forces thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Pak-Afghan border. Eight foreign militants were killed, and four others were injured during an exchange of fire.
The ISPR has stressed the importance of border security and urged the Afghan interim government to ensure effective border management. Both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif praised the military for their bravery and commitment to securing Pakistan’s borders in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
