Sindh has confirmed its second death from the Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), commonly known as the Congo virus, in 2025. The latest victim was a 25-year-old fisherman, Muhammad Zubair, from Ibrahim Hyderi, Malir district, who passed away on June 19.
Zubair was initially admitted to Jinnah Hospital on June 16 with symptoms including high fever, muscle pain, abdominal discomfort, cough, diarrhea, and internal bleeding. Due to limited resources at the facility, he was referred to the Sindh Infectious Diseases Hospital & Research Centre (SIDH & RC), where he succumbed to the infection three days later.
