Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SAZEW) has announced the imminent launch of the ORA-07 EV, a new imported Completely Built Unit (CBU) electric vehicle. This development, shared with the main bourse on Tuesday, marks a significant step in Sazgar’s expansion within Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) market.
The ORA-07 EV, which is part of the ORA sub-brand from the Chinese automotive giant Great Wall Motors (GWM), will enhance Sazgar’s presence in the EV sector. The vehicle is available in both front-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations, offering powerful performance with system outputs ranging from 204 HP to 408 HP and a torque of up to 680 Nm. The GT model is particularly notable for its acceleration, achieving 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h.

In terms of battery options and range, the ORA-07 EV offers two choices: a 64-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a range of 273 miles and an 83-kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery with a range of 354 miles. It supports fast DC charging with a maximum power of approximately 95 kW.
The ORA-07 EV is a substantial vehicle, measuring nearly 5 meters in length, 1.86 meters in width, and 1.50 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.87 meters and a weight of around 2,183 kg. Its design is both sleek and modern, featuring small round headlights, a smooth body shape, and retractable door handles. Inside, the car boasts a 12.3-inch touchscreen display and a digital instrument panel, providing a high-tech and immersive driving experience.
This launch follows Sazgar’s previous entry into the electric vehicle market with the locally assembled Haval Jolion Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV). The introduction of the ORA-07 EV represents a significant advancement in Sazgar’s EV expansion strategy. Booking for the ORA-07 EV is expected to begin soon, offering a new option for consumers in Pakistan’s growing electric vehicle market.
