Saudi Arabia Prohibits Social Media Use At Work

JEDDAH – Saudi Arabia has implemented a ban on the use of social media during working hours, with employees facing disciplinary action for violating the rule. Abood Alzahim, an official from the Saudi Ministry of Manpower and Social Welfare, stated that government employees are not permitted to engage in social media activities while on duty, and strict measures will be taken against those who breach this regulation.

Alzahim emphasized the need for a more efficient work environment and warned that the use of personal mobile phones during duty is considered misconduct, contrary to the code of conduct for government institutions.
