Saudi Arabia Introduces E-Visas in 12 Countries, Including Pakistan

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry has taken a significant step by introducing electronic visas (e-visas) in a dozen countries, with Pakistan among them. The official announcement was made by the Saudi General Aviation Authority, which has implemented a new e-visa issuance method involving QR codes.

The system is now operational in Saudi missions across the following countries: Pakistan, Turkey, Morocco, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, Philippines, Indonesia, and Egypt.

This move is part of the country’s continuous efforts to streamline processes and improve the quality of services provided by consular offices. Saudi Arabia is also updating its visa issuance procedures for various categories, including work, residency, and visit visas

In recent times, the nation has been making efforts to enhance its visa processes and increase flexibility in its visa regulations. The aim is to attract more tourists and international businesses to the country.

Furthermore, there are reports of discussions about the possibility of a unified visa system similar to the Schengen model among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which could further facilitate travel and business within the region.
