Samsung Debuts ‘Flexible Briefcase’ Laptop at MWC 2025

At Mobile World Congress 2025, Samsung Display unveiled the “Flexible Briefcase,” an innovative foldable-screen laptop concept that doubles as a briefcase. The device features an 18.1-inch QD-OLED display with QHD+ resolution (2,000 x 2,664 pixels) and a pixel density of 184 PPI, delivering sharp and vibrant visuals. Its unconventional design includes two handles that meet in the middle when closed, transforming the device into a portable briefcase, while integrating power and volume buttons for added functionality.

When unfolded, the large display and unique foldable mechanism set it apart from traditional laptops, making it particularly appealing to content creators and professionals. Although its pixel density is slightly lower than that of the Galaxy Book4 Ultra, the concept emphasizes a versatile, portable form factor.

Samsung has been exploring foldable-screen laptop designs for years, having previously patented a similar concept in 2022 and introduced the Flex Note. While the Flexible Briefcase remains a prototype with no announced commercial launch date, it signals Samsung’s commitment to advancing foldable technology. Meanwhile, other brands like Lenovo have also showcased experimental laptop designs, such as a solar-powered model, indicating a broader trend towards innovation in portable computing.
