Saad Rafique Strongly Condemns Egg Assault On Aleema Khan

Former federal minister Saad Rafique has condemned the recent egg attack on Aleema Khan. He described the act as “shameful, vulgar, and disgraceful.”

Posting on social media, Saad Rafique called the incident reprehensible. He linked it to similar attacks, including the shoe thrown at former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the ink attack on Khawaja Asif. He said such acts reflect a fascist mindset.

Rafique recalled previous incidents of public aggression, including chaos outside the hospital where Kulsoom Nawaz was hospitalized and the attack on Marriyum Aurangzeb at the Prophet’s Mosque. He said these attacks come from the same toxic mentality that fuels violence.

He also condemned the assassination attempt on Ahsan Iqbal, calling it an act of religious extremism. Saad Rafique emphasised that violence and hatred cannot solve societal problems. He urged people to reject such behaviour and promote peace.

Rafique stressed that acts of aggression against public figures are unacceptable in any society. He said individuals and authorities must discourage, denounce, and prevent these actions at every level.

The former minister highlighted the broader dangers of normalizing violence. According to Saad Rafique, allowing such behaviour to continue only strengthens extremist mindsets and encourages further attacks.

By speaking out against the egg attack on Aleema Khan, Rafique aims to raise awareness about the importance of civility and respect in public discourse. He urged political opponents and citizens alike to maintain decorum and reject aggression.

The condemnation from Saad Rafique comes amid growing concerns about safety for public figures in Pakistan. Experts say such incidents can create a culture of fear and destabilize the political environment if not addressed promptly.
