Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Sunday that Russia had launched over 200 drones in an overnight assault, marking the largest such attack since the war began. He condemned Russia’s “aerial terror” and urged Ukraine’s allies to remain united.
“Every day, our people resist aerial terror,” Zelenskyy wrote on X.
“On the eve of the third anniversary of the full-scale war, Russia carried out its largest drone attack yet, deploying 267 Iranian-made drones against Ukrainian cities and villages.”

Ukraine’s air force reported that 138 drones were intercepted, while another 119 lost signal due to electronic warfare measures. Additionally, Russia launched three ballistic missiles, causing damage across five regions.
For months, Moscow has been conducting near-nightly large-scale drone attacks in an effort to wear down Ukraine’s air defenses.
Zelenskyy revealed that over the past week, Russia had launched nearly 1,150 attack drones, more than 1,400 guided aerial bombs, and 35 missiles of various types at Ukraine.
The Ukrainian leader expressed gratitude to the country’s air defense operators and called on foreign allies to remain united in ensuring a “just and lasting peace.”
“This can only be achieved through the collective strength of all partners—we need the unity of Europe, the support of America, and the commitment of all those who seek lasting peace,” he emphasized.
Concerns have grown in Kyiv and among its European allies following U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent verbal attacks on Zelenskyy, as well as a meeting between U.S. and Russian delegations in Riyadh, to which Ukraine was not invited.
