Russia carried out an intense overnight drone attack on Kyiv, injuring at least 23 people and causing widespread damage across the Ukrainian capital, authorities reported Friday morning. The attack damaged railway lines, sparked fires in buildings and cars, and affected six of the city’s ten districts.
According to Ukraine’s Air Force, the attack lasted over eight hours and involved 539 drones and 11 missiles. Kyiv was the main target, and air defences worked through the night to shoot down 478 of the incoming threats. Explosions and anti-aircraft fire were heard across the city.
