[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Russia’s very survival as a state was at risk in Ukraine, according to President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.

Putin went into great detail with workers at an aviation industry in Buryatia, expanding on his well-known claim that the West was determined to rip Russia apart.

As a result, he explained, “for us, this is not a geopolitical issue, but a task of the survival of the Russian statehood, providing the framework for the future growth of the nation and our children.

Putin has charged that the West is waging war on Russia and causing it to suffer a “strategic defeat” by using the Ukrainian conflict as a weapon. He claimed that the adversary had anticipated that businesses would shut down, the banking system would crash, unemployment would increase, and demonstrators would take to the streets.

“This did not happen,” Putin said. “It turned out, for many of us, and even more so for Western countries, that the fundamental foundations of Russia’s stability are much stronger than anyone thought.”
