Russia Freezes Khabib Nurmagomedov's Bank Accounts

Khabib Nurmagomedov, the retired UFC legend, is reportedly facing financial troubles as Russian tax authorities have frozen his bank accounts due to significant tax debts amounting to over £2.4 million ($3 million). Since retiring undefeated with a 29-0 record in October 2020, Khabib has ventured into various business endeavors, which have not proven as successful as his fighting career.

In addition to financial challenges, Khabib has also faced personal setbacks. Recently, a fight club associated with his late father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, was raided by police in Russia’s Dagestan region as part of an investigation into suspected links to a terrorist cell.

Despite these difficulties, there have been persistent rumors about Khabib potentially returning to the UFC, including speculation about a comeback for UFC 300. However, Khabib has repeatedly affirmed his retirement and stated that he has no intentions of returning to the Octagon.

“I told Ali [his manager], it doesn’t matter who calls you, but never call me about a fight,” Khabib stated firmly, underscoring his commitment to staying retired.

As Khabib navigates these challenges, the MMA community continues to wonder if the undefeated champion will ever make a comeback to competitive fighting.
