Rubio Warns Iran Is Nearing Nuclear Weapons Capability, Urges Immediate Action

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has voiced renewed concerns over Iran’s swiftly advancing nuclear program, warning that Tehran is dangerously close to developing nuclear weapons. In an interview with Fox News, Rubio stressed that preventing Iran from acquiring such capabilities remains a top priority for the United States.

“Iran is very close to developing nuclear weapons,” Rubio stated. “We must stop it at all costs. Hopefully, this can be achieved through peaceful negotiations.”

He emphasized that diplomatic engagement is the preferred approach, highlighting that current regional conditions present a unique opportunity for a nuclear deal with Iran. Rubio reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to using all available tools—preferably peaceful—to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear-armed state.
