Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah announced that an intelligence-based anti-terror operation is ongoing in Bajaur. The operation aims to eliminate terrorist threats in the region.
Speaking after a flag-hoisting ceremony at the Civil Secretariat, Shahab Ali Shah said some residents from certain villages in Bajaur have relocated to safer areas due to the ongoing security measures. The government is closely monitoring the situation to ensure their protection.
The provincial cabinet has approved Rs5 billion in funds to support those displaced by the operation. These funds will be used to provide relief, including food, shelter, and medical assistance, to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Bajaur.
The chief secretary expressed hope that peace will soon return to Bajaur and that displaced families will be able to return safely to their homes once the operation is complete. He emphasized that terrorism is the work of militants, while security forces are committed to stopping them and restoring order.
Shahab Ali Shah also pointed out that the security situation in Bajaur and other merged tribal districts is influenced by events in neighboring countries. These external factors have contributed to instability, necessitating strong security measures.
The ongoing operation in Bajaur reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring peace and security in the region. It also highlights efforts to balance counter-terrorism with humanitarian support for affected communities.
Officials have assured that the relief funds will be managed transparently and reach those in need promptly. The government aims to rebuild stability and promote long-term development in Bajaur following the operation.
