The suspect in the stabbing attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been captured by the Indian Railway Protection Force (RPF) while traveling on a moving train.
Indian media identified the suspect as 31-year-old Akash Kanojia, who was traveling from Mumbai to Howrah when he was arrested during a routine inspection in Chhattisgarh. Mumbai Police had shared his photo, aiding in his identification and arrest.

RPF officials confirmed that Mumbai Police verified Kanojia’s identity through a video call before taking him into custody. He will be handed over to Mumbai Police for further investigation.

The stabbing occurred earlier this week at Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence around 3 a.m. during an attempted robbery. When Saif resisted, the intruder stabbed him six times, causing severe injuries, including a wound near his spine. Saif’s resistance prevented the robbery, but he required urgent medical treatment.

Mumbai Police had deployed over 30 teams to locate the suspect. Although an earlier arrest was reported, it was later clarified to be unrelated.
The capture of Akash Kanojia marks a major breakthrough in the case. His image has been circulated by Indian media, and authorities continue to investigate to ensure justice for Saif Ali Khan and his family.
