Revealing List for Anfield: Iheanacho Travels, but Dmitrovic, Óscar, and Jordán Are Left Out

The squad list that Xavier García Pimienta will present for the final preseason friendly against Liverpool is quite revealing. Among the notable inclusions is Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho, who has been called up for the first time with the team. However, there are some notable absences, including goalkeeper Dmitrovic, midfielder Joan Jordán, and Óscar Rodríguez, all of whom are staying behind and are likely to exit during the current summer transfer market, according to ABC de Sevilla.

Also missing the trip to England is club legend Jesús Navas, who just returned after becoming a European champion, along with Marcos Acuña, who has recently resumed group training but is not part of the traveling squad. Gonzalo Montiel and Lucien Agoumé, who were introduced publicly just days ago, are making the journey. Juanlu is expected to join the team next Monday, and the club is considering holding a tribute alongside Navas, although it’s yet to be determined whether it will be a public or private event, and if it will also include the two Copa América champions, Acuña and Montiel.

Isaac is currently dealing with gastroenteritis, which caused him to miss a recent training session, and he had a rough night, resulting in his omission from the squad. Ocampos is also absent due to the same illness; He was initially expected to be included but ultimately could not participate.

With the absences of Dmitrovic, Jordán, and Óscar confirmed as discards within the Sevilla setup, García Pimienta has called up several youth players to fill these gaps. The club is looking to find new teams for the Serbian goalkeeper and the Catalan midfielder, while Óscar is also not part of the coach’s plans for this final friendly before the season opener against Las Palmas in Gran Canaria. The list features a number of youth players across various positions, along with new signings such as Saúl, Peque, Ejuke, and Iheanacho, all brought in by Víctor Orta during this summer’s transfer window.

Pending official confirmation, the complete Sevilla squad of 21 players for the match against Liverpool this Sunday at Anfield is as follows: Nyland, Alberto Flores, Nianzou, Darío, Ramón Martínez, José Ángel Carmona, Montiel, Pedrosa, Gudelj, Rivera, Collado, Manu Bueno, Sow, Agoumé, Saúl, Suso, Lukebakio, Peque, Ejuke, Idumbo, and Iheanacho.
