Qatar Vows Strong Action At UN Against Israeli Attack

Qatar has issued a strong warning in response to an Israeli airstrike on its capital, Doha. The attack, which targeted a meeting of Hamas leaders, killed six people, including a Qatari security officer. Qatar has declared that it will take action under any circumstances.

A spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry told Arab TV at the United Nations that Doha will not remain silent in the face of aggression. The official emphasized that Qatar considers the attack a violation of its sovereignty. “We will respond to the attack on Qatar’s sovereignty,” the spokesperson said. They added that the situation is serious and cannot be dismissed as merely anger over the strike.

Qatar is actively coordinating with allies worldwide to plan a response. The ministry confirmed that Doha is in contact with friendly countries to address the situation. The spokesperson stressed that Qatar aims to hold Israel accountable and ensure such attacks do not go unchecked.

The airstrike occurred on September 9 in a residential area of Doha. Hamas confirmed that its central leadership survived the attack, but six individuals, including the son of Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya, were killed. Powerful explosions and smoke were reported following the strike. The Israeli military confirmed targeting the Hamas consultation meeting in Doha.

Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani called for a collective response from the Gulf region. He warned that the strike poses a risk to the wider region. The Prime Minister added that Arab states are consulting on a coordinated reaction. “There is a response that will happen from the region. Discussions are ongoing with our partners,” he said.

Qatar’s firm stance signals its determination to protect its sovereignty and collaborate with regional allies. The country has made it clear that it will not back down without a measured response.
