In a meeting held in Lahore, the minister engaged with a delegation led by Muhammad Nusrat, Chairman of the Pakistan Poultry Association. During the discussions, various strategies for setting broiler chicken prices were explored. The Secretary of Livestock Punjab reported a recent surge in chicken prices by Rs70 per kg, which was not linked to supply and demand issues.

Muhammad Nusrat raised several business-related issues and concerns with the minister. In response, Minister Kirmani assured that the government would address these concerns and set chicken prices based on input from all stakeholders. He emphasized that the government intends to allow a 15 to 20 percent profit margin on production costs and work towards reducing the current high prices.

The Livestock Secretary will draft a pricing plan to be submitted to the chief minister for approval. The Poultry Association has agreed to cooperate with the government to help achieve lower prices for consumers.
