The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a warning for Punjab, forecasting heavy rainfall in various cities, including Lahore, from April 26 to 29.
The alert was issued due to a strong westerly wave affecting the western and upper regions of the country. During this period, isolated or moderate to heavy rainfall could lead to flash floods in local nullahs and streams.

Authorities also cautioned about the possibility of landslides in Murree, Galiyat, and other vulnerable areas from April 27th to 29th.
Additionally, the PMD highlighted the potential risks of windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning, which could impact human lives, crops, structures like electric poles, vehicles, and solar panels during this timeframe.
The weather forecast indicated that several cities, including Lahore, could experience moderate to heavy rainfall between April 26 and 29.
Under this weather system, rain, wind, and thunderstorms are expected in various cities across Punjab, including Islamabad-Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and Bahawalpur.
In response to the forecast, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed all relevant departments to take precautionary measures in anticipation of the heavy rainfall.
