Punjab police gets new guidelines for uniform

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Inspector General (IG) of Punjab has decided to change the uniforms of police officers in order to implement a recognition system based on years of service. In this context, Additional IG Rifaat Mukhtar sent a letter on behalf of the IG Punjab outlining the new uniform standards.

According to the letter, police officers who have served for ten years will henceforth wear a single blue stripe on their uniforms. Similarly, officials with 20 years of service will wear two blue stripes, while those with 30 years will wear three blue stripes, indicating their significant expertise.

Furthermore, Punjab Police emphasises that all female personnel must now wear a headscarf. This command was transmitted in the same letter that was given to various high-ranking officers, including the CCPO Lahore, the Commandant Punjab Constabulary, RPOs, DPOs, and the SSP Motor Transport.

The new uniform scheme is intended to increase recognition and respect for police officers by giving them with a visible representation of their years of service.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
