The Punjab Police has undertaken a strategic initiative to augment its workforce by recruiting several thousand constables. A comprehensive proposal outlining this recruitment drive has been submitted to the cabinet for requisite approval.
In a proactive move to bolster its personnel strength, the provincial police aims to enlist 4,000 constables. The Inspector General of Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, has accorded his approval for this recruitment initiative.

Emphasizing the necessity to address staffing requirements, IG Punjab highlighted that a formal request has been forwarded for the approval of the provincial cabinet. Once sanctioned, the police department will proceed to officially advertise the available positions.
In a separate development, the provincial police has unveiled plans to mitigate fuel shortages and achieve cost savings by procuring several hundred electric bikes. IG Punjab disclosed that, in the initial phase, the department will acquire a total of 200 e-bikes, with an allocated budget of Rs. 30 million for this purpose.
