In a major step towards addressing homelessness and housing insecurity, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the implementation of a new initiative to provide free three-marla plots to the underprivileged, poor, and homeless across the province. The scheme is set to benefit thousands of families who lack access to affordable housing.
In the first phase of the scheme, 1,892 plots will be distributed across 33 housing schemes in 22 districts of Punjab. These plots are being allotted with a focus on ensuring that deserving individuals and families have a place to call home. The project aims to provide stability and support to citizens by addressing one of the most critical needs — housing.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that this initiative is a fulfillment of the government’s duty to ensure equal access to state resources, and not an act of charity. “Every citizen of Punjab deserves their own home — this is my dream,” Maryam stated while encouraging authorities to expedite the process and ensure that the plots are allocated without delays.
A Dream for All Punjab Citizens
The initiative was first introduced in January during the launch of the Maskan Ravi Housing Scheme in Kala Shah Kaku, where Maryam Nawaz highlighted her vision of uplifting low-income families through land ownership. She reiterated the importance of ensuring that every citizen has access to housing, especially those in urban areas.
Ambitious Housing Development Goals
With an ambitious plan to provide homes for five lakh families within five years, the government has already constructed 100 houses in two and a half months under the Maskan Ravi Housing Scheme. Thousands of additional homes are under construction across Punjab, reflecting the government’s commitment to addressing housing challenges for the less fortunate.
Maryam Nawaz expressed confidence in the public’s support for the initiative, stating, “The people of Punjab trust Nawaz Sharif’s vision. They actively participate in every scheme, knowing that it will be completed with integrity and efficiency.”
