The Punjab Education Department has introduced a mobile application to monitor the presence and locations of school teachers, aiming to improve accountability and ensure attendance.
The app will also serve as a platform for feedback from school principals. Additionally, the powers of Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) have been expanded, allowing them to update teacher profiles and facilitate temporary transfers.

According to a department spokesperson, the app was developed under the guidance of the Programme Monitoring and Implementation Unit. A survey revealed that Punjab has 105,178 educational institutions, comprising 52,314 public schools and 50,054 private ones.
This initiative will assist authorities in identifying absent teachers during work hours and tracking “ghost teachers” who draw salaries without performing their duties, thus addressing inefficiencies in the education budget.
