The Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar, inaugurated a major road project in Bahawalpur. The project has an approved cost of Rs. 741.32 million and is aimed at improving local infrastructure.
Speaking at the ceremony, Malik Zaheer said the road project is part of the “Restore Roads, Prosper Punjab” program. The initiative aligns with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and focuses on enhancing road conditions in both urban and rural areas of the province.
He added that the project is being executed under the SAP-VII program in collaboration with the Punjab Highway Department and the Bahawalpur district administration. The road is expected to provide safer and more convenient travel for residents.
The Deputy Speaker highlighted that the government has formally started multiple road construction and expansion projects across Punjab. These efforts are part of ongoing development plans to improve transportation infrastructure province-wide.
Officials said the road project will reduce travel time, enhance connectivity, and support economic growth in the region. By upgrading existing roads and constructing new routes, the initiative aims to provide smoother and safer travel for citizens.
