Punjab Declares Smog Emergency, Keeps Schools Open

Lahore – The interim government in Punjab has declared a province-wide emergency to address the deteriorating smog conditions, especially in Lahore. This decision was made during a meeting led by Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi to assess anti-smog measures.

Despite this, the government has opted not to close schools and public transportation. Instead, it has mandated that all students in private and public educational institutions wear masks. The chief minister instructed authorities to take action against those who fail to dampen mud, sand, and rubble during house construction.
