Punjab CM Launches Crackdown On Loudspeakers, Enforces One-Dish Rule

Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz has issued clear instructions to all commissioners and deputy commissioners to enforce strict rules on loudspeakers and ensure the full implementation of the one-dish policy at weddings and private events across the province. The directive aims to reduce noise pollution and curb excessive spending at social gatherings.

The Punjab CM stressed that no event should use loudspeakers without permission. She directed authorities to take legal action against any unauthorized use, especially at Qawwali nights, marriage halls, farmhouses, and open-air venues. Officials have also been told to monitor noise levels at all functions and ensure that marriage halls close on time.

The government is taking a strong stance on enforcement. Officials who fail to carry out these orders will not be allowed to attend wedding ceremonies. This measure is intended to improve accountability and ensure that the rules are followed at every level of administration.

A key part of the new directive is the strict enforcement of the one-dish rule. This policy will now apply not only to marriage halls but also to farmhouses and grounds where private events are held. The decision aims to reduce unnecessary extravagance and promote simpler, more manageable gatherings.

District officers have been instructed to supervise the implementation of these rules. They must ensure that all events follow the one-dish policy and comply with loudspeaker regulations. Any event that violates the rules will face legal action under the relevant laws.
