Various parts of Punjab witnessed a mix of weather , as rain, overcast skies, and dust storms swept across the province. However, meteorologists have cautioned that a significant rise in temperatures is on the horizon.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), while light to moderate rain was expected in the Gujranwala and Rawalpindi divisions, southern Punjab and Lahore were mostly hit by dust-laden winds with little to no precipitation. This brief change in weather is attributed to a weakening system that is expected to exit the region by the end of the day.

The PMD has forecast a steady increase in temperature in the coming days. “Areas that receive rainfall may witness brief respite from the heat,” said a PMD official, “but the broader trend indicates a gradual intensification of heat.”
In Lahore, early morning temperatures hovered around 24°C, while daytime highs are expected to reach 40°C. The presence of dusty winds is likely to add to the discomfort, especially in densely populated urban areas.
Authorities have urged citizens to take necessary precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak hours, as the province prepares for the next wave of heat.
