The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department has announced revised Ramadan Timings for government medical institutions across Punjab. The new schedule applies to medical universities, colleges, teaching hospitals, and related offices.
The department issued a formal notification confirming the updated Ramadan Timings. These changes aim to ensure smooth operations during the holy month. Officials said the revised hours will help staff and patients manage their routines more easily.
Under the new Ramadan Timings, government offices will operate on reduced hours. From Monday to Thursday and Saturday, office hours will be from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. On Friday, offices will close earlier at 12:30 PM. The working day will begin at 8:00 AM as usual.
Health institutions that function five days a week will follow a slightly different schedule. From Monday to Thursday, these institutions will remain open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This arrangement is designed to maintain essential healthcare services.
Teaching hospitals will also follow specific Ramadan Timings. Their outpatient departments (OPDs) will operate from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM from Monday to Thursday and Saturday. On Friday, OPDs will close at 12:30 PM. The department emphasized that patient care will continue without disruption.
Officials stated that the revised Ramadan Timings are effective immediately. All concerned institutions have been directed to implement the changes without delay. Administrations have also been asked to ensure staff attendance according to the new schedule.
The department said the decision was taken to balance work responsibilities with the spirit of Ramadan. Shorter office hours are common during the month. These changes help employees observe fasting while continuing public service.
Patients visiting teaching hospitals are advised to plan their visits according to the updated Ramadan Timings. Early arrival is recommended to avoid inconvenience.
