The federal government of Pakistan has declared May 28 (Tuesday) as a public holiday in honor of Youm-e-Takbeer.
This day commemorates the historic nuclear tests conducted at Chagai in 1998, marking Pakistan’s emergence as the seventh nuclear state globally and the first among Islamic nations to possess nuclear capabilities.

Youm-e-Takbeer is observed annually with patriotic spirit to recall the significant event. The nuclear tests, carried out in the Rasko hills of Balochistan’s Chagai district, were a response to India’s five nuclear explosions.
