Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formally requested permission to organize a rally at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on August 5.
The application was submitted by PTI Lahore President Sheikh Imtiaz to the deputy commissioner. In the letter, PTI asked the administration to allow a peaceful political gathering at the historic venue.
PTI also mentioned that if Minar-e-Pakistan is unavailable, an alternative location should be provided by the authorities. The party has emphasized that the rally is part of its peaceful and democratic campaign.
The planned gathering is linked to PTI’s announcement of a nationwide protest on the same date. The rally at Minar-e-Pakistan is expected to be a major event in this campaign.
Minar-e-Pakistan has long held symbolic value for PTI. Over the years, the party has held several major rallies at the site, attracting large crowds and national attention.
PTI has stated that it is committed to peaceful protest and democratic rights. The party wants to use public venues to engage with its supporters and present its political stance.
The local administration has not yet responded to the request. However, PTI remains hopeful that permission will be granted in time for proper arrangements.
Political analysts view the August 5 rally as part of PTI’s effort to rebuild momentum and reconnect with its voter base. The event may serve as a platform for the party’s leadership to outline its future political strategy.
As the date approaches, PTI supporters across the country are expected to follow developments closely. The party continues to stress the importance of lawful and peaceful demonstrations.
With rising political activity, PTI’s request marks another step in its push to remain active on the national stage. The final decision from authorities is awaited.
