[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]On Tuesday, Omer Ayub, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), declared that Imran Khan, the party’s founder, officially designated Amir Dogar for the pivotal position of National Assembly speaker, while Junaid Khan was chosen for the role of deputy speaker. This revelation followed a series of meetings between Ayub, other party officials, and the imprisoned PTI chief at Adiala Jail.
Amir Dogar, formerly the chief whip in the National Assembly during the PTI government and the special assistant to the prime minister on political affairs under Imran Khan’s leadership, emerged victorious in the February 8 general elections from Multan’s NA-149 constituency. Similarly, Junaid Khan, nominated by Imran Khan for the NA deputy speaker, secured a triumph in the polls from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Malakand district.

Ayub expressed confidence in the PTI’s future, citing Junaid’s dedication despite facing challenges, and asserted, “God willing, the PTI will form governments.”
Additionally, Ayub disclosed plans for nationwide peaceful protests on March 2 to address alleged rigging in the February 8 elections. Expressing concerns about the election process and significant rigging, Ayub pledged to protest alongside other parties against the reduction of their seats through Form-45s.
Accusing the election of unprecedented rigging in Pakistan’s history, Ayub claimed that the public mandate was stolen, highlighting incidents like the alleged snatching of a seat during recounting in Lodhran. He committed to fighting such injustices through legal means, protests in assemblies, and mobilizing public support.
PTI leader Asad Qaiser emphasized the party’s commitment to free and fair elections, refusing decisions made behind closed doors. He urged the public to join the PTI’s peaceful protest and stated that the party would formulate its strategy based on gathered concerns about the general elections.
Qaiser also criticized Maryam Nawaz’s appointment as chief minister, questioning the legitimacy of her ascension and appealing for a lawful and constitutional struggle while urging the public to engage in peaceful protests.
