PESHAWAR – July 18, 2025: A serious internal conflict has erupted within PTI over the distribution of Senate election tickets in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Several party organizers are demanding that Irfan Saleem be awarded the PTI Senate ticket from Peshawar.

At a press conference, PTI office-bearers warned that they will launch protests if their demand is not met. They said demonstrations would be held outside the Provincial Assembly and the Chief Minister’s House. They also threatened to block MPAs from voting on the day of the election.

The protestors called the denial of a ticket to Irfan Saleem a betrayal of PTI’s ideology. They claimed Saleem is a long-time party worker and deserved the nomination. According to them, PTI’s core supporters feel sidelined by leadership decisions favoring financial donors.

They accused the leadership of handing tickets to wealthy individuals, referring to them as “ATMs,” rather than choosing committed party workers. The office-bearers stated, “This fight is for the true spirit of PTI that Imran Khan founded.”

The group emphasized that Irfan Saleem will not withdraw under any circumstances. They also claimed that 13 to 15 MPAs have already assured their support for him. They alleged attempts are being made to elect some candidates unopposed.

The organizers threatened to enter the Red Zone and surround key government buildings if their voices are ignored. They also warned of a larger movement after the Senate elections if their demands are not met.

This internal dispute shows growing dissatisfaction within PTI ranks. The controversy could affect party unity ahead of the Senate vote in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. PTI leadership has yet to respond officially to the demands.

The outcome of this conflict may impact PTI’s Senate performance and internal cohesion going forward.
