President Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended New Year greetings to the nation. They emphasized unity, discipline, and hard work as Pakistan enters 2026. The leaders highlighted challenges in the economic, political, and global arenas.

In his message, President Zardari urged citizens and political forces to protect the country’s shared future. He said Pakistan was approaching its 79th Independence Day. This milestone calls for reflection, collective resolve, and national unity.

The president described global conditions as uncertain, marked by conflicts, extremism, economic instability, and climate emergencies. He said Pakistan faces these pressures but is not helpless. President Zardari stressed that resilience, creativity, and faith are crucial to overcome challenges.

On the economy, he highlighted inflation, debt, supply chain issues, and global competition. He called for economic sovereignty based on discipline. The president encouraged productivity over populism and exports over excuses. He also promoted inclusive growth and investment in education, healthcare, youth development, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.

Climate change was another focus. President Zardari warned of floods, droughts, water shortages, and extreme heat. He said adaptation and mitigation must advance together to protect lives and livelihoods.

Regarding politics, he said democracy requires responsible disagreement. Political parties should act constructively in Parliament. He cautioned against allowing disputes to be exploited by hostile elements seeking to destabilize the country. As head of the federation, President Zardari offered to lead national reconciliation to bridge divides and restore trust.

On security, he praised national unity and the armed forces’ professionalism. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace but said defense is non-negotiable. The president also raised concerns about India’s weaponization of water. Pakistan reserves the right to respond through legal and diplomatic channels.

On foreign relations, he emphasized peaceful resolution of disputes with India and compliance with the Doha Accord in Afghanistan. He reiterated support for Palestine and hoped for an end to global conflicts, including the Ukraine-Russia war.

President Zardari concluded by calling for unity over division and renewal over despair. He urged the nation to face 2026 with collective effort, faith, and determination.
