PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari revealed on Tuesday night that Shehbaz Sharif is set to become the next Prime Minister of Pakistan, while Asif Ali Zardari will assume the role of President. Bilawal made this announcement during a late-night press conference, stating that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and PPP have secured the necessary parliamentary support to establish the upcoming government.
After days of negotiations, the PPP and PML-N reached a consensus on forming a coalition government at the federal level, following the absence of a single party securing a clear majority in the February 8 polls.

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, addressing a joint press conference at Zardari House in Islamabad, declared, “PPP and PML-N have achieved the required number, and [now] we are in a position to form the government.” He noted that candidates supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) were unable to secure sufficient support to establish the government at the federal level.
PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, speaking at the press conference, explained that the PTI-backed winning candidates were given the opportunity to prove their majority and form the government, but they lacked the necessary numbers.
Asif Ali Zardari, during the press conference, highlighted that the formation of the new coalition government aimed to propel Pakistan forward. He urged everyone to pray for the well-being and progress of Pakistan.
